Geneva, Switzerland. May 4, 2010 – Aviation Partners, Inc. (API) announced today that it recently completed its fourteenth Falcon 2000 Series Blended Winglet retrofit, and the first for a European-registered aircraft. The 2000EX EASy aircraft, owned by Gator Aviation and operated by Jersey, C.I. based Aviation Beauport Limited, had the Winglet installation completed at Duncan Aviation’s Battle Creek, Michigan, facility in March and recently returned to Europe flying non-stop 3,822 nm from Sarasota, Florida to Jersey, C.I.
“After the winglets were fitted we positioned the aircraft down to Sarasota and it then went direct to Jersey with (unusually) minimal wind assistance – about 3,800 nm, so definitely longer range than the EX.” Said Mike Bell, Aviation Beauport Chairman.
The Winglets for the Falcon 2000 Series are “High Mach” Blended Winglets – this revolutionary new design is optimized for cruise speeds of Mach .80 and higher. For the 2000EX the Winglets provide a drag reduction of 5 percent at Mach .80, which equates to a 200+ nm range increase. API’s High Mach Blended Winglet STC have been installed on 14 Falcon 2000 series aircraft to date, with three others currently in work and a significant order backlog. Operators are already enjoying increased range and fuel reserves, reduced fuel burn and emissions, and will see a healthy return at resale.

The Winglets, designed and certified by API, are standard equipment on the 2000LX and can be retrofitted to the Falcon 2000, 2000EX and 2000EX EASy via an FAA and EASA approved STC. Installation is carried out through API’s network of authorized installers including, for operators in the EMEA region, TAG Aviation at their recently expanded maintenance facility here in Geneva.
